Shapes of the States™ is a cartographical tabletop puzzle card game that challenges players' knowledge of US geography including population, land area size, date established, and bordering states. The game includes 48 contiguous state cards, 12 wildcards, 1 starting tile, 18 scoring tiles, and 1 scorepad.

The game includes two different sets of rules: one for 2-6 players and one for a solitaire player.
Players draw and place state cards into a network of already placed cards limited by the state boundaries displayed at the edge of most state cards.
